A "One-Day Trip to Xian'an Mountain" jointly organized by the Changhua County North University Alumni Association and the Taichung County North University Alumni Association. Departing early in the morning, the journey was accompanied by alumni camaraderie; with laughter and conversation, it added much warmth to what was originally just a trip. Upon arriving at Xian'an Mountain, the area is enveloped in mist and clouds with fresh air. Although the weather suggested rain and the ground was slightly damp, this only enhanced the lush greenery, lending the entire park an atmosphere of tranquility and solemnity. Walking through the grounds and seeing attractions like "David Castle," the stone walls, gardens, paths, and forests complement each other, prompting people to slow down, calm their minds, and appreciate the blend of nature and cultural scenery. Everyone held umbrellas, took photos, and exchanged greetings; in these simple exchanges, lay the warmth and sincerity accumulated from years of alumni friendship. Normally, everyone works hard in different roles, so it is rare to gather at an alumni event. Walking and chatting together, sharing updates, and reminiscing about their student days at North University. From campus life to society, from classmates to alumni—this
On August 22, 2026, the "Xian'an Mountain One-Day Tour," jointly planned by the alumni associations of Changhua County and Taichung County, officially commenced. Early that morning, under the coordination of the alumni associations, alumni departed in batches via bus. The scenery of the countryside and hills visible outside the bus windows was a constant sight; attendees exchanged greetings and shared updates on their recent work and lives, creating a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere.
The journey proceeded northward, with the convoy slowly moving along winding mountain roads. Along the way, alumni frequently stopped to get out and take in views of the distant mountain ranges and rivers, feeling the tranquility and grandeur of nature. Whenever they encountered a beautiful scene, everyone spontaneously took photos to remember the moment and shared these
Upon arriving at Xinan Scenic Area, the group first gathered for a group photo at the entrance. Subsequently, following arrangements by the alumni association, they entered and toured the "David Castle" within the park. The castle's stone walls and garden design integrate modern architecture with traditional mountain scenery, giving one the feeling of being in an ancient castle ruin. The paths within the park meander, flanked by dense pine forests and bamboo groves, occasionally featuring misty mountaintops, which adds a touch of mystery and romance to the entire journey.
Amidst the misty drizzle in the mountains, the ground was slightly damp, yet it brought a fresh atmosphere to the campus. The raindrops tapping on the eaves and flagstones created a crisp rhythm, causing the alumni present to unconsciously slow their steps and quietly appreciate this natural gift. As everyone shared umbrellas and supported one another, feeling the warmth of each other in the rain, this spirit of mutual help is the most precious value of the alumni association.
During the trip, alumni moved through various scenic spots, including the viewing platform of "David Castle," forest trails, and cultural plazas within the park. At each location, volunteers from the alumni association provided explanations on the historical background and architectural significance, allowing attendees to deepen their understanding of the extension of Northern University of Science and Technology's campus culture while enjoying the beautiful scenery. During the tour, participants continuously asked questions and shared their respective academic experiences, with career details from fields such as engineering, information technology, and education reflecting upon each other through exchange.
Throughout the day trip, alumni reminisced about their school days amidst laughter and sighs. From the night lights of the dormitories to the running tracks on the playground, and the classrooms in the lecture halls—those little moments from the past resurfaced with every step taken today. Whenever they mentioned "the nights we spent together" or "that teacher back then," smiles of pride and gratitude appeared on everyone's faces; this transmission of emotion is the core spirit of the alumni association. Continuing to explore every corner of the campus, from overlooking the entire scene from a high point to listening to the sound of mountain springs in the lowlands, allows both body and mind to relax and be nourished.
At the end of the trip, the alumni gathered for a group photo in the campus plaza. This picture is not only a commemoration of the day's activities but also a symbol of enduring friendship spanning different counties and generations. Everyone hugged each other, expressing hopes and best wishes for the future, which were conveyed through every glance. Following this, the Alumni Association President and the Advisor Chairman, Senior Student Minda (敏達), gave thank-you speeches, thanking all participants for their enthusiastic involvement and encouraging everyone to continue contributing their strengths to the development of Northern University of Science and Technology.
During dinner, alumni gathered at a restaurant in Chiayi to enjoy local mountain cuisine. Around the table, everyone chatted and laughed, with memories of past classrooms and current workplace challenges becoming the focus of conversation. This time spent dining together not only filled their stomachs but also strengthened their emotional bonds. After the meal, the alumni resumed their journey home.
This journey is not just a simple sightseeing trip; it is an emotional reunion across different counties and cities. It allows everyone to reconnect with each other amidst the mountains and rivers, adding beautiful shared memories to their busy lives. The warmth and strength that the alumni felt atop the mountain will continue into their daily work and life, becoming the driving force for their future endeavors. In the future, the Alumni Association will continue to plan various activities to ensure this bond is passed down for generations, allowing every Northern University of Science and Technology (NUST) alumnus to gather in different settings and continue writing their own wonderful chapters.
As this journey concludes, we bid each other farewell, yet the campus bond planted in our hearts will never fade. In the days to come, no matter where we are, our identity as Northern University of Science and Technology (NUST) alumni will forever keep us connected. Let's look forward to the next reunion, continuing to share our stories on different peaks and by different lakes, and continue writing our own campus legend.
